For more than 100 years, artists have been sculpting, painting and otherwise rendering the form of the human body.
Photos of people are often the photos that can take ones' breath away if captured just right. That perfectly captured expression. The way an adults hand gently encapsulates a small childs. The hidden emotion in someones eyes.
The complexity of hands and the drawings spawned from trying to capture them are everywhere. (I personally love drawings of hands). Eyes recieve a lot of attention "windows to the soul" etc.
But what about nudity?
Isn't a nude body able to be considered as beautiful and artistic as eyes or hands?
Well, yes. But that's not the point I wish to discuss.
It's the sharing of it. The public rendering of it.
What makes one picture pornographic and the other artistic?
However you look at it, the subject is the same. They may be treated differently thus splitting them into pornagraphic and artistic but you cannont get around the fact that the subject matter is the same.

It is my opinion that the naked human body is indeed a work of art. A brilliant work of art, by the most talented artist. But it is a work of art that should be shared with only one other.
If photos and drawings of naked human body is really just another piece of art then how come it needs to be censored? Why protect your children from art?
Of course you would not let your children look at such 'art'.

I do not dispute that the human body is a beautiful thing. I just don't agree with its full nakedness being incorporated into public displays.

The artists of old knew their stuff to be sure. But I would've given David some clothes. I do not think it was a custom of the time for David to walk around nude. I wouldn't paint lots of women walking around with no clothes on.

I'm expecting that a lot of top artists around will disagree with me but that's fine. They're entitled to that. Then again, not a lot of top artists will be visiting my humble little page. So I imagine my little stand for morality will go by rather unnoticed.

But if you do happen to stop by, then think. Why is nakedness suddenly fine when you call it 'art'?
The top guy in the porn industry calls what he does art.
What goes through someones mind as they're drawing, photographing or sculpting that which is normally considered to be private and censor worthy?
